KidDo Mobile App

Designed during the onset of COVID-19, KidDo explored how digital experiences could support parents balancing remote work, childcare, and at-home learning through engaging educational and recreational activities.

Problem

Parents were suddenly expected to manage multiple responsibilities at once — working remotely while also supporting their children’s learning and daily routines. Many children struggled with motivation, focus, and boredom during extended periods at home.

Research findings highlighted:

- Difficulty balancing work and parenting responsibilities

- Lack of engaging at-home activities

- Need for structured yet flexible activity planning

Solution

The goal was to reduce friction for parents while encouraging children to stay engaged through playful and accessible experiences. KidDo focused on helping parents discover and organize activities that supported both education and recreation. The experience emphasized:

- Personalized activity recommendations

- Simple activity browsing

- Customizable routines

- Child-friendly visuals and interactions

Reflection

KidDo taught me the importance of designing for emotional context, especially during uncertain situations like COVID-19 isolation. The project strengthened my understanding of:

balance multiple stakeholder needs

simplify high-complexity workflows

design for scalability and governance

create systems that support both usability and operational trust
